| dc.description.abstract-translated | This paper is focused on hardware and software design of 120S2P battery with integrated Battery Management System (BMS) and protection. It is capable of 3.5 kW input/output power with power peak of 5 kW. The hardware is based on eight ICs BQ76PL455 in daisy-chain. Each of them can measure and balance up-to 16 cells. The logic and protection functionality is covered by software in microcontroller TM4C123. The BMS electronic is supplied by power source with ability to sleep. The BMS has also ability to periodically wake-up to run check on cells. Main purpose of this battery is to be used in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The BESS is specifically designed for peak-shaving of traction drives laboratory power demand. | en |
