Abstract

This study deals with the hydrographical, hydrological, geomorphological and ecohydrological evaluation of the Berounka river tributaries at their confluence in Pilsen. This work concentrates on the comparative study of four rivers (Mže, Radbuza, Úhlava, Úslava). The hydrographic analysis is important part of the watersheds comparison. Differences of the hydrographical parameters (catchment area, altitude of springs, order in the river network) are typical for all the Berounka river tributaries. This study presents also the difference of the hydrological parameters (annual discharges, runoff variability), geomorfological parameters (balance of the longitudinal profile, hypsographical integral) and ecohydrological parameters as well (water quality, quality of land use in the flood plain). This differences influence the City of Pilsen area and its water resourses and flood hazards. Flood impacts correspond to unacceptable anthropogenic changes and to hydrographical and geomorphological attributes of catchments.
