| dc.description.abstract | S nárůstem preferencí labouristů Jeremyho Corbyna se v britských médiích opakovaně objevuje názor, že případný Corbynův úspěch by pro Británii znamenal "návrat do Sedmdesátek", přičemž je tato dekáda líčena jako pochmurné období všeobecného úpadku. Některá média však naopak 70. léta obhajují jako období relativního blahobytu, nejnižších sociálních rozdílů v historii a vzkvétající populární kultury. Článek analyzuje stereotypy, v jejichž rámci jsou 70. léta britskými médii prezentována, a poukazuje na to, že diskuse o "Sedmdesátkách" je ve skutečností špatně maskovanou debatou o současné socioekonomické situaci Británie. | cs |
| dc.description.abstract-translated | With the Labour Party led by Jeremy Corbyn surging in recent polls, an opinion has been voiced by some British media that a potential electoral success of the Corbynite version of Labour will mean “a return to the Seventies”, with a number of distinct frames used to depict the decade as grim period of overall decline. In contrast, a number of media voices have defended the Seventies as a decade of relative equitability, everyday affluence and thriving popular culture, despite the wider economic struggles. Using frame theory, the paper aims to identify the frames, both positive and negative, applied to the Seventies by selected British newspapers and magazines of both right-leaning and left-leaning orientation. The paper demonstrates how the debate about the last decade of the post-war consensus is in fact a thinly veiled debate about Britain’s current socio-economic situation. | en |
