dc.description.abstractMUPIC (Multidisciplinární projekty v mezinárodním kontextu) je mezinárodní projekt, který spojuje studenty z několika univerzit (Západočeská univerzita v Plzni, University of Mons, Florida universitaria a Turku University of Applied Sciences) z různých profesí (strojní inženýrství, projektový management, marketing a průmyslový design). Studenti z partnerských univerzit pracovali na zadání od soukromých firem. Jejich úkolem bylo vylepšit existující produkt podle zadání firmy a požadavků zákazníka. Partnerské univerzity zároveň vytvořili online kurz za účelem podpory práce studentů v mezinárodních projektových týmech. Kurzy obsahuje moduly zaměřené na interkulturní komunikaci, jazykové dovednosti důležité pro efektivní práci v mezinárodním týmu, vodítko pro konstruktéry, projektový management, práci ve virtuálních týmech a online komunikaci. Dalším z vytvořených materiálů je Příručka pro učitele, která má poskytnout důležité informace všem, kteří by chtěli použít online kurz po ukončení projektu MUPIC. Součástí plánu kurzu je prezenční startovací týden (Kickoff week, poté následuje osmi měsíční práce studentů ve virtuálním prostředí, kontrolovaná v třech kontrolních termínech, kdy studentské týmy dostávají zpětnou vazbu od odborníků z univerzit a z praxe. Během závěrečného prezenčního týdne kurzu studenti prezentují celkové výsledky své práce za přítomnosti zadavatelských firem. Kurz, který byl původně plánován ve formě blended learning, musel být kvůli pandemii COVID -19 realizován pouze ve virtuální podobě (2020 a 2021). I přes změnu formy kurzu studenty uspěli a předložili na konci projektu skvělé výsledky.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedMUPIC (multidisciplinary project in an international context) is an international engineering project blending students from several universities (UWB, UMONS, Florida universitaria and Turku University of Applied Sciences) having different backgrounds (mechanical engineering, project planning, business and marketing, industrial design). Students from the partner universities work together on an assignment from a private company. Their task is to improve an existing product according to the company/customer needs. In parallel, the project developed an online course to support students work in multidisciplinary international project teams. It contains modules on intercultural communication, language skills necessary for effective work in an international team, engineering design guidelines, project management, working in virtual teams as well as online communication. It is accompanied by a glossary of industrial design terminology. A teacher’s guide will be developed to provide all the necessary information and instructions for the use of the online course after the project lifetime. A kickoff week is organized to allow team building prior to the development of the work which is performed online. Three checkpoints are organized during the project to get feedback from experts in the different fields. The presentation of the projects at the end of the course is intended to be face to face, including a participation of the companies that have submitted the assignments. Unfortunately, COVID crisis prevented most of the face to face interaction for both pilot sessions of the project (in 2020 and 2021).
