Příspěvek se tyká nového pohledu na současnou moderní technickou společnost. Optimistická představa o vytvoření jedné, globální světové společnosti, jejíž vývoj bude kontrolován a regulován v duchu idejí humanismu, vědecko-technického řízení ap. se ukazuje jako obtížně realizovatelná. Myšlenka sama je důsledkem kontinuálního vývoje myšlení Okcidentu. V článku je odkaz na systémovou teorii N. Luhmanna, na jeho pojetí samovývoje společnosti, autopoietického systému. V protikladu k představám o možnosti realizace velkých idejí spojených s odstraňováním všeho co tomu brání věnuje Liumann pozornost kontingentnímThe article is about a new view of the modern technical society. An optimistic idea of the creation of one, global world society, whose development will be controlled and regulated in the spirit of humanism, scientific and technical management, etc. is proving difficult to realise.
