Existenciální rozměr jedné Kafkovy prózy: čtení inspirované texty Waltera Biemela a Jana Patočky

Abstract

Východiskem příspěvku je zájem o fenomenologicky orientované přístupy k literární tvorbě. Příkladem takového přístupu jsou úvahy Waltera Biemela o povídce F. Kafky Der Bau. Podle Biemela zkoumá povídkový fragment s centrální postavou "animal rationale" podstatný rys lidské existence, jistý aspekt moderní racionality. Příspěvek se ohlíží za Biemelovou interpretací a ukazuje, že také myšlení Jana Patočky z konce 60. let 20. století poskytuje zázemí pro fenomenologické čtení Kafkovy prózy a umožňuje prohloubení pohledu na způsoby a možnosti literárního díla tematizovat tělesnost, identitu, čas a prostor.

The paper looks back at Walter Biemels phenomenologically, Heideggerian-inspired interpretation of Kafka´s prose Der Bau, where the protagonist is read as animal rationale. This figure refers Biemel to the nature of modern rationality and the problematic situation of modern man in terms of dwelling in the world. The article recalls how the Czech phenomenologist Jan Patočka responded to this interpretation in the 1960s and 1970s. And with a background in Patočka's exploration of the natural world and the concept of existence as movement, Biemel's view is then supplemented with an alternative reading. It is shown that animal qualities of the main character and the topology of Kafka's prose can be interpreted more subtly. Patočka's phenomenology of the natural world helps deepen insights into ways and capacities of literary work to thematize carnality, the natural world, and the temporal and spatial aspects of existence.
