Abstract
At its subscription concert on 31 January this year, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra presented a new setting of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No.3 in D minor in Prague's Rudolfinum. The orchestra was joined by the women's voices of the Prague Philharmonic Choir with choirmaster Lukáš Vasilek, the Pueri gaudentes boys' choir with choirmasters Jan Kyjovský and Libor Sládek, as well as many supporting musicians to complement the large cast of the work. The soloist of the evening was Scottish mezzo-soprano Catriona Morison, who replaced the ailing Christa Mayer. The performance was conducted by Semyon Bychkov. At the end of the concert, the completely sold-out Dvořák Hall applauded for a long time the comprehensive performance of all the protagonists.
