Heslo v odborné encyklopedii pojednávající o Janu Dobřenském na Dobřenicích a Březnici. Pocházel ze starého českého vladyckého rodu, který svými kořeny sahá až do 14. století. Janův otec vlastnil Dobřenice a Bohdaneč. Na tato panství se v roce 1572 uvázal i Jan. Byl tak dobrým hospodářem, že si jej jako správce statků zvolily i jiné vrchnosti – např. Trčkové a Smiřičtí. Jan Dobřenský was descendan of an old Bohemian noble family, with roots dating back to the 14th century. Jan's father owned Dobřenice and Bohdaneč. In 1572, Jan also tied himself to these estates. He was such a good manager of the estate that he was also chosen as the manager of estates by other lords - for example, the Trčka and Smiřický families. Near the end of his life he became burgrave of the Hradec Králové region, where he performed administration and judiciary in this region.
