Hilbertovo dílo je představeno a rozebráno v souvislosti s pracemi jeho kolegů, zejména z univerzity v Göttingenu. V práci je věnována pozornost tomu, co předcházelo Hilberově dílu v geometrii. Diskutovn je také Hilbertův vliv na další disciplíny. | cs |

In our succeeding text we first present the book from a historical perspective, and we introduce Hilbert's work together with the work of his colleagues, mainly at Göttingen University.
