Teorie informace a metoda komparace

Abstract

Tato teoretická studie je zaměřena na možnosti uplatnění teorie informace v komparační analýze interdisciplinárních vztahů výtvarného umění a hudby. Její první část akcentuje klíčovou roli aplikované teorie informace (teorie komunikace, teorie očekávání) v interpretaci hudby, především její schopnost postihnout dynamickou podstatu vztahu antecedentu a konsekventu, na které je její časová struktura postavená.Druhá část komparační studie zkoumá předpoklady uplatnění teorie informace v analýze výtvarného díla, jejíž struktura je ve srovnání s hudbou odlišná. Důležitým východiskem je jednak Arnheimova Entropie umění. Esej o neuspořádanosti a řádu a zejména pak průlomová monografie Umberta Eca Otevřené dílo. Klíčovým závěrem studie je argumentace dominantní role teorie informace v analýze abstraktního umění – především abstraktního expresionismu – jako důsledek implantace prvků hudebního myšlení do specifiky myšlení výtvarného, a to jak z hlediska formy, tak i obsahu.

This theoretical study focuses on the possibilities of applying information theory in a comparative analysis of interdisciplinary relationships between visual arts and music. The first part emphasizes the key role of applied information theory (communication theory, expectation theory) in the interpretation of music, especially its ability to capture the dynamic nature of the relationship between antecedent and consequent, on which its temporal structure is based.The second part of the comparative study examines the prerequisites for applying information theory in the analysis of works of art, whose structure differs from that of music. An important starting point is Arnheim's Entropy of Art: An Essay on Disorder and Order, and especially Umberto Eco's groundbreaking monograph The Open Work. The key conclusion of the study is the argument for the dominant role of information theory in the analysis of abstract art—especially abstract expressionism—as a consequence of the implantation of elements of musical thinking into the specifics of visual thinking, both in terms of form and content.
