Abstract
Heslo v odborné encyklopedii pojednávající o Karlu Chotkovi, příslušníkovi starého šlechtického rodu Chotků z Chotkova a z Vojnína. Vystudoval práva na pražské a vídeňské univerzitě. Zastával řadu důležitých úředních funkcí: působil v úřadu pražského gubernia, byl krajským hejtmanem v Hranicích na Moravě, byl tajemníkem ministerstva financí a krajským hejtmanem v Přerově, terstským gubernátorem, atd. Karel Chotek byl věrný panovníkům habsburské dynastie, za což byl v roce 1836 vyznamenán řádem zlatého rouna.
The encyclopaedia entry deals with the Karel Chotek. Karel Chotek was a member of the old noble Chotek family from Chotkov and Vojnín. He studied law at the unicersities of Prague and Vienna. He held a number of important official positions: he worked in the office of the Prague governorate, he was the regional governor in Hranice in Moravia, he was the secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the regional governor in Přerov, the governor of Trieste, etc. Karel Chotek was loyal to the monarchs of the Habsburg dynasty, for which he was awarded, in 1836, the Order of the Golden Fleece.
