Abstract

Text se literární formou zabývá vztahem mezi vědeckým a uměleckým dílem a paralelně kompetencí umělce a vědce k tvorbě. Tvrdí, že pozornosti hodné umělecké dílo vždy obsahuje nějaké objektivní poznání stejně jako dílo vědecké. Jediný rozdíl mezi uměleckým a vědeckým dílem pak shledává ve formě sdělení. Dochází pak k závěru, že umělec musí na rozdíl od vědce svému publiku nabídnout ještě něco navíc a tím je opojení estetičnem. Takové opojení dokáže uvést laické publikum do stavu, ve kterém je schopno chápat sdělované. Nahrazují se tak kompetence, jenž pro pochopení prezentovaného musí mít publikum vědeckého díla.

The text deals in a literary form with the relationship between scientific and artistic work and, in parallel, the competence of the artist and the scientist to create. It argues that an attention-worthy work of art always contains some objective knowledge, just as a work of science does. He then finds the only difference between an artistic and a scientific work in the form of the message. He then concludes that the artist, unlike the scientist, must offer his audience something more, and that is the intoxication of the aesthetic. Such intoxication can bring the lay audience to a state in which they are able to understand what is being communicated. This substitutes for the competences that the audience of a scientific work must have in order to understand what is presented.
