Několik poznámek k možné stavební podobě hradu Zvěřince

Abstract

Výsledky povrchového průzkum hradu Zvěřince umožnují základní nástin jeho stavebního vývoje a v základních rysech také rekonstrukci stavební podoby hradního jádra a velmi rozsáhlého předhradí. S ohledem na deponie stavebního materiálu v prostoru prvního nádvoří je možné předpokládat, že k opuštění hradu došlo v době, kdy ještě probíhaly, minimálně v prostoru předhradí, stavební práce. Hrad Zvěřinec tak můžeme řadit mezi lokality, jejichž stavební vývoj nebyl v době jejich existence plně dokončen. Zejména u předhradí lze sledovat v průběhu 15. století nárůst významu této části hradní dispozice. V této době nebyl Zvěřinec jen šlechtickým sídlem, ale také významným vojenským opěrným bodem s nemalým garnizonním potenciálem. S touto změnou funkce hradu koresponduje také samostatný opevněný areál přiložený k východnímu svahu hradního jádra i další objekty v předpolí hradu.

The results of a surface survey of Zvěřinec Castle (cadastral area of Jesenice, Příbram District) provide a basic outline of its architectural development and, in broad terms, also the reconstructed architectural form of the castle's core and outer bailey. As early as the mid-14th century, the castle's small core was dominated by a free-standing rectangular palace or residential keep surrounded by a perimeter wall, to which a smaller building with a cellar was attached on the eastern side. During a later construction phase, another building containing a gateway was added to the outer face of the front wall, which was probably broken by a simple gate. The area of the outer bailey, which was established on a platform beneath the castle core, is significantly larger than the area of the castle core. In the later Middle Ages, this area was extensively built up. Given the accumulations of building material in the area of the first courtyard, it is likely that the intended construction projects in this part of the castle were never completed. An extensive sunken structure, which follows the courtyard wall of the building adjacent to the western section of the outer bailey wall, is most likely not an unfinished water collection tank, as it was assumed previously, but rather the foundation of another residential building. Zvěřinec Castle can therefore be classified as one of the sites which were not never fully completed during their existence. In particular in the case of the outer bailey, we can observe an increase in its importance of during the 15th century. Back then, Zvěřinec Castle was not only an aristocratic residence, but also an important military fortress with considerable garrison potential. This change in the castle's function is also reflected in the separate fortified area attached to the eastern slope of the castle core and other defensive buildings in the castle's vicinity.
