dc.description.abstractDisertační práce pojednává o Friedrichu Ratzelovi (1844-1904), německém geografovi konce 19. století, a jeho Politické geografii. Autor se zaměřil na posouzení jeho příspěvku vznikající moderní humánní geografii, zvláště pak antropogeografii a politické geografii. Ovšem s ohledem na to, že jméno F. Ratzela bývá častokrát spojováno hlavně s geopolitikou a Lebensraumem, jakož i se sociálním darwinismem, imperialismem apod., rozhodl se autor ověřit objektivitu a správnost jeho prezentace v dosavadní literatuře. Ukázalo se, že jeho stávající prezentace je ve většině případů buď zavádějící, tendenční nebo neúplná. Jedním z cílů autora tak bylo upozornit na tyto nedostatky v literatuře a přispět tím ke spravedlivějšímu a objektivnějšímu posouzení Ratzelovy osobnosti a celoživotní práce.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe dissertation deals with Friedrich Ratzel (1844-1904), a German geographer of the late 19th century, and his Political Geography. The author focused on the assessment of his contribution to the emerging modern human geography, especially anthropogeography and political geography. However, with regard to the fact that the name of F. Ratzel is often associated mainly with geopolitics and Lebensraum, as well as with social Darwinism, imperialism, etc., the author decided to verify the objectivity and accuracy of its presentation in the existing literature. Its current presentation turned out to be in most cases either misleading, biased or incomplete. One of the author's goals was to draw attention to these shortcomings in the literature and thus contribute to a fairer and more objective assessment of Ratzel's personality and life's work.en
