Abstract

Do prvních let třicetileté války vstoupil španělský rodák s holandskými kořeny Martin Huerta jako rytmistr v Marradasově pluku Marradas. Studie sleduje jeho další osudy až do bitvy na Bílé hoře, především na poli vojenském, neboť Huerta se zúčastnil několika bitev a obléhání měst a pevností, následně se stal velitelem ve městě Písek. Tam byl také zajat a uvězněn na dlouhou dobu v Plzni, což mu nakonec umožnilo stát se prominentní postavou mezi vyjednavači, kteří se pokusili uzavřít příměří s jejím velitelem Mansfeldem před císařským tažením na Prahu.
