Abstract

Do prvních let třicetileté války vstoupil španělský rodák s holandskými kořeny Martin Huerta jako rytmistr v Marradasově pluku Marradas. Studie sleduje jeho další osudy až do bitvy na Bílé hoře, především na poli vojenském, neboť Huerta se zúčastnil několika bitev a obléhání měst a pevností, následně se stal velitelem ve městě Písek. Tam byl také zajat a uvězněn na dlouhou dobu v Plzni, což mu nakonec umožnilo stát se prominentní postavou mezi vyjednavači, kteří se pokusili uzavřít příměří s jejím velitelem Mansfeldem před císařským tažením na Prahu.A Spanish native with Dutch roots, Martin Huerta, entered the first years of the Thirty Years‘ War as a captain (Rittmeister) in the Marradas regiment.The study follows his subsequent destinies up to the Battle of Bílá hora (White Mountain), especially on the military field, as Huerta took part in several battles and sieges of towns and fortresses, after which he became the commander in the town of Písek.
