dc.description.abstractZmapovat intelektuální kořeny metody Isotype, zrekonstruovat, popsat a vysvětlit metodu Isotype tak, jak ji jeho autor Otto Neurath zamýšlel, a zpracovat recepci této metody po smrti Otty Neuratha - to jsou tři základní cíle této práce. Na podrobně zpracovaném bibliografickém materiálu a stručném odborném kontextu jsou popsány přiznané i další pravděpodobné vlivy, vše je ukázáno v chronologickém, geografickém a teoretickém rámci. Metoda Isotype (původně Vídeňská metoda obrazové statistiky) byla ideově vytvořena Otto Neurathem a realizována skupinou mnoha spolupracovníků, z nichž nejdůležitější jsou Marie Reidemeister Neurath a Gerd Arntz. Isotype je metodou, která nemá přesně popsaná pravidla, a i ta, která jsou známá, není možno mechanisticky použít na převod dat na vizuální reprezentace. Spíše historický než filozofický pohled se snaží nastínit souvislosti a okolnosti jednotlivých důležitých okolností ve vývoji metody Isotype, která je předchůdcem dnešní moderní informační grafiky.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe three basic aims of this work are to map the conceptual roots of the Isotype method, to describe the Isotype method as it was intended by its author, Otto Neurath, and to give an account of subsequent application of the method after Otto Neurath's death. Using a detailed analysis of biographical material as well as a briefly presented scientific context, the author describes the acknowledged and other possible influences which may have contributed to the formation of the Isotype method. All this is presented within a framework of a chronological, geographical, and theoretical context. The basic concept of the Isotype method, earlier known as the 'Vienna Method of Pictorial Statistics', was created by Otto Neurath. Its actual form and details are the work of a large group of his collaborators, most importantly Marie Reidemeister Neurath and Gerd Arntz. Isotype is a method with no strictly specified rules and whatever rules it does have cannot be mechanically applied to translating data into a visual representation. From a historical rather than philosophical perspective, the goal of this contribution is to outline the connections and circumstances of various events, which played a role in the development of the Isotype method, the predecessor of modern information graphics.en
