Abstract
On 17 May 2023, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Klaus Mäkelä performed at the Prague Rudolfinum as part of the Prague Spring International Music Festival. The soloist of the evening was violist Antoine Tamestit, this year's artist in residence, who played the Concerto for Viola and Orchestra by Alfred Schnittke in the first half of the concert together with the ensemble. After the intermission, Symphony No. 1 in D major by Gustav Mahler was performed. The sold-out hall gave a standing ovation to the performances of all the performers.
