Abstract

Text se zaměřuje na zmizelé budovy v centru Plzně v 19. a 20. století. Po prvních stavebních změnách, které byly spojeny zejména s odstraňováním hradeb (probíhajícím od počátku 19. století) a vznikem prvních činžovních domů, začalo postupně docházet k bourání starších domů a jejich nahrazování modernějším bydlením. Celkově tím Plzeň přišla o téměř dvě třetiny svých starých historických staveb. Za pozornost stojí fakt, že nové budovy často přejímaly sloh budov zaniklých, ovšem ve formě příslušného, tehdy převládajícího historizujícího stylu. Text si konkrétně všímá těchto zaniklých budov.

The text focuses on the disappeared buildings in the center of Pilsen in the 19th and 20th centuries. After the first building changes, which were mainly connected with the removal of the walls (taking place from the beginning of the 19th century) and the creation of the first apartment houses, the older houses gradually began to be demolished and replaced by more modern housing. In total, Pilsen lost almost two-thirds of its old historical buildings. It is worth noting that the new buildings often adopted the style of the buildings that had disappeared, but in the form of the appropriate, then prevailing, historicizing style. The text specifically describes these disappeared buildings.
