Článek pojednává o japonské zahradě Šówa-en v plzeňské Zoo. Zaměřuje se na proces vzniku zahrady, zdroje inspirace jejího tvůrce Eišina Harady a symboliku různých prvků, které se v zahradě vyskytují. Stručně se dotýká také rozdílu mezi japonskými a evropskými zahradami.
