dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice náboženství v moderní společnosti, konkrétně Evangelickou církví metodistickou (ECM), včetně změn, které v této církvi nastaly po roce 1989. Práce se zabývá vznikem metodismu, metodismem v Československu a funkcí sborů. Zároveň analyzuje sociální aktivity ECM a podrobně se věnuje historii a současné situaci ECM sborů v Plzni. V závěrečné části práce je použita komparativní metoda.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis Bachelor's thesis is concerned with the issue of religions in the modern society, namely the Evangelical Methodist Church (EMC), including the changes occurring in this church after the year 1989. The thesis deals with the formation of Methodism, Methodism in Czechoslovakia and with the function of congregations. It also analyses social activities of EMC and details the history and the present situation of the EMC congregations in Plzeň. In the final part of the thesis a comparative method is used.en
