dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce Survival and Solidarity: Exploring the Impact of the Great Depression on Relationships in Selected Works by John Steinbeck se zaměřuje na analýzu vlivu velké hospodářské krize na společnost a obecně mezilidské vztahy v románu The Grapes of Wrath (Hrozny hněvu) a novele Of Mice and Men (O myších a lidech) od Johna Steinbecka. Práce se soustředí na konkrétní postavy, jejich vzájemnou komunikaci a projevy náklonnosti, přátelství, či jejich osamělost v kontextu ekonomické a sociální nejistoty 30. let 20. století v USA. Text kombinuje analýzu děl s analýzou historicko-vědecké literatury. Primárním cílem práce je doložit relevanci Steinbeckových děl jakožto věrných náhledů do doby velké hospodářské krize a to, že ji svým vlastním způsobem autenticky reflektují.cs

The text combines literary analysis with the analysis of historical and scholarly literature. The primary aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the relevance of Steinbeck's works as faithful portrayals of the era of the Great Depression and to show how they authentically reflect the period in their own way.en
