dc.description.abstractTato práce se zabývá srovnáním dvou českých překladů Vánoční koledy od Charlese Dickense, konkrétně překladem od Evy Houskové z roku 1994 a překladem od Lucie Šavlíkové z roku 2019. V teoretické části jsou prezentovány různé pohledy na překlad, jeho vztah ke kultuře, otázka ekvivalence, různé strategie překladu a jsou zde představeny vybrané problémy překladu. Praktická část obsahuje základní informace o životě a díle Charlese Dickens, především o Vánoční koledě. Následně je proveden rozbor a porovnání dvou překladů, zaměřený na problémy rozebrané v teoretické části, tj. překlad jmen, národních a historických specifik, idiomů a slovních hříček, a celkové zhodnocení překladů.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis thesis deals with comparison of two Czech translation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, specifically with translation by Eva Housková from 1994 and translation by Lucie Šavlíková from 2019. In the theoretical part, different views on translation are presented, along with its relation to culture, the issue of equivalence and different translation strategies and selected issue of translation are introduced. The practical part consists of the basic information about Charles Dickens' life and works, particularly A Christmas Carol. Further, the two translations are analysed and compared with emphasis on the issues presented in the theoretical part, i.e., translation of proper names, national and historical particularities, idioms and wordplays. Overall evaluation of the translations follows.en
