Emerson Quartet se loučil s Prahou vynikajícím výkonem

Abstract

Dvořákova síň pražského Rudolfina se zařadila mezi několik koncertních sálů z celého světa, kde se v průběhu sezóny 2022/23 loučí se svojí velmi úspěšnou mezinárodní kariérou americký Emerson String Quartet. Hrál ve složení Eugene Drucker a Philip Setzer – střídavě 1. a 2. housle, Lawrence Dutton – viola a Paul Watkins – violoncello. Jejich pražské rozloučení připravil Český spolek pro komorní hudbu 15. března tohoto roku. Soubor do svého programu symbolicky zařadil první kvartet Mendelssohnův a poslední kvartety Johannesa Brahmse a Antonína Dvořáka. Návštěvníci Dvořákovy síně pak na závěr koncertu ve stoje aplaudovali mimořádnému komornímu výkonu, především však závratné koncertní kariéře amerického tělesa.

The Dvořák Hall of Prague's Rudolfinum is among several concert halls from around the world where the American Emerson String Quartet will bid farewell to its highly successful international career during the 2022/23 season. The line-up consisted of Eugene Drucker and Philip Setzer - alternating 1st and 2nd violins, Lawrence Dutton - viola and Paul Watkins - cello. Their Prague farewell was arranged by the Czech Chamber Music Society on 15 March this year. The ensemble symbolically included the first Mendelssohn quartet and the last quartets by Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák in its programme. At the end of the concert, the visitors to the Dvořák Hall gave a standing ovation to the extraordinary chamber performance and, above all, to the dizzying concert career of the American ensemble.
