dc.description.abstract-translatedThe economic benefits of tourism can be modified and evaluated by means of several macroeconomic indicators, which include the number of jobs, the volume of domestic production, or gross added value initiated by the expenditure of visitors in the travel and tourism industry. Expenditure of domestic and foreign visitors increase the demand for hospitality, accommodation, transport, cultural, sporting services or various goods of a retail character and in this way they directly support production of performance in companies w services, thereby directly support creation of performance in the companies which produce the goods. Changes in the demand of visitors directly affect the scope of the economic activities of businesses tourist trade establishments, however, the quantification of their total impact on domestic economy requires also examination of linkages among individual sectors of tourist trade establishments and businesses which indirectly participate in ensuring goods meeting the needs of the visitors during the travel and stay at the place of destination. So expenditure of visitors indirectly affect the creation of domestic production, gross value added and number of jobs in other industries that supply inputs to the tourist trade establishments. To quantify the total, i.e. direct and indirect impact of visitors´ expenditures on the domestic economy selected multipliers can be used, which in case of their application in tourism measure the change for example of domestic production or gross added value in consequence of the change of visitors´ expenditures or spending on the goods of tourism.en
