dc.description.abstract-translatedThis study aims to investigate how generative artificial intelligence (AI) affects education from the perspective of students attending Greek private high schools, located in the region of Achaia. The descriptive approach is the method of choice because of its compatibility with the objectives of the study. The research sample consists of (120) students who were given a questionnaire developed and distributed using Google forms. The results reveal that students generally have a positive perception of using ChatGPT and Gemini, which were considered useful tools for providing immediate support by answering questions, giving feedback and guidance. Also, the results support that AI plays an important role in education, while at the same time it is increasingly integrated into it. The paper should assist education providers to assess how students perceive AI. This may help bring about changes, to improve the teaching and learning process. Overall, this paper contributes to the discussion of how AI can be safely and responsibly integrated with education and helps students properly understand the benefits and challenges of using AI for learning purposes.en
