dc.description.abstractPráce si klade za cíl nastínit společenské postavení hinduistických žen v průběhu jejich života, popsat, jakými životními situacemi prochází a ukázat, jaká mají práva a povinnosti. V první a druhé kapitole vysvětluje základy hinduismu a uspořádání hinduistické rodiny, v dalších kapitolách promítá všechna úskalí a důležité okamžiky ženina života, jako je dospívání, svatba, manželství, porod, mateřství, stáří a smrt. V závěru se práce věnuje problému vdovství a zvyku sátí.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe work aims to outline the social status of Hindu women throughout their lives, to describe the situations that they go through, and show what their rights and obligations are. In the first and second chapters, it explains the basics of Hinduism and Hindu family arrangement, in other chapters, it reflects on the pitfalls and important moments in a woman's life, such as adolescence, weddings, marriage, childbirth, maternity, old age, and death. In conclusion, the work addresses the problem of widowhood and the custom of sati.en
