dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První poskytuje životopisné informace. Druha část prozkoumává zdroje inspirace, ze kterých Carverovo dílo čerpá. Je to především výzkum týkající se jeho předchůdců, ačkoli důležité osobnosti z jeho života jsou taktéž zmíněny. Poslední část se pokouší vymezit autorovo místo v moderní americké literatuře druhé poloviny 20. století. Dále je předveden rozbor Carverových povídek se záměrem popsat jeho jednotlivé sbírky.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe thesis is diveded into three parts. The first provides writer's biographical information. Second part inquires sources of inspirtaion from which Carver's work draws. This is chiefly research concerning his predecessors, though the important persons from his life are mentioned as well. The last part tries to determine author's position in modern American literature of the second half of the twientieth century. Further, an analysis of Carver's short stories is displayed in order to characterize the individual collections.en
