dc.description.abstractTato disertační práce nazvaná Středověká arabsko-islámská medicína: dějiny interpretací se zabývá dějinami historiografie arabsko-islámské středověké medicíny od roku 1890 do roku 2010, přičemž toto časové rozmezí je rozděleno na čtyři etapy po třiceti letech. Dějiny historiografie středověké arabsko-islámské medicíny v uvedeném období budu zkoumat jednak v pracích evropských a amerických autorů, jednak v dílech arabsko-islámských historiografů, a to z hlediska diferencovaných přístupů k interpretaci historie vědy. Cílem práce je vysvětlení příčin různých přístupů k interpretaci dějin arabsko-islámské středověké medicíny s přihlédnutím k dobovému sociokulturnímu kontextu, v jehož rámci autoři zkoumaných prací bádali. Práce staví na hypotéze o závislosti interpretace dějin středověké arabsko-islámské medicíny na dobových sociálních, politických, ekonomických a kulturních poměrech, ve kterých se nachází interpret.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe dissertation entitled Medieval Arabic-Islamic Medicine: History of Interpretations is concerned with the history of historiography of medieval Arabic-Islamic medicine between 1890 and 2010. This time period has been divided into four parts, each of them spanning 30 years. The history of historiography of the selected period is examined through the analysis of works written by both European/American authors and Arabic-Islamic historiographers. Attention is paid to different approaches to interpreting the history of science, the main ones being internalistic, externalistic, anachronic and diachronic. The dissertation aims at elucidating the reasons standing behind the use of various approaches to interpreting the history of medieval Arabic-Islamic medicine, taking into account the contemporary socio-cultural context, in the framework of which the respective authors lived and worked. The dissertation is based on the assumption that there is a dependence of how the history of medieval Arabic-Islamic science is interpreted on the contemporary social, political, economic and cultural conditions under which the historiographers wrote their works.en
