„Chlap” a „trúp” v sociálním kontextu

Abstract

Staročeskému výrazu „trúp“ odpovídá řada novočeských ekvivalentů: špalek, pařez, poražený a osekaný kmen, neurozený člověk, hlupák, trubec. Analyzujeme sémantiku posledního z nich (v literárních textech 14. století), kontextuální vazbu „trúpa“ ke včelímu společenstvu. Právě včelstvo odpovídalo sociálnímu fenoménu, ke kterému již od starověku směřovala část alegorií zhmotňujících konkrétní i obecnější představy o strukturách a fungování lidské společnosti = sociální komunita, matka, otec, potomstvo, rozličné sociální role v konkrétní komunitě.

The Old Czech term “trúp” corresponds to several Modern Czech equiva-lents: block, stump, felled and trimmed tree trunk, commoner, fool, drone. In this article, we focus onthe semantics of the last of these meanings — trúp — as attested in 14th-century literary texts, particularly in relation to its contextual connection with the bee community. Since antiquity, the beehive, has functioned as a social metaphor, reflecting various allegorical interpre-tations of human society — its structure, roles, and dynamics — including representations of the community, the mother (queen), father, offspring, and other social functions within a collective.
