| dc.description.abstract | Téma práce je motivováno rostoucím počtem zemí, které zavádějí regulace a doporučení týkající se diverzity ve vedení podniků. Tyto kroky naznačují význam diverzity pro finanční výkonnost a úspěšnost podniků. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda existuje závislost mezi počtem žen a mužů ve statutárních orgánech a výkonností podniků. Dalším cílem bylo zjistit, zda má vliv na výkonnost věk členů statutárních orgánů. Ve výzkumné části byla provedena kvantitativní analýza dat podniků ze tří segmentů národního hospodářství s ohledem na genderovou a věkovou rozmanitost statutárních orgánů. Genderová analýza ukázala na značnou nerovnost ve statutárních orgánech podniků ve prospěch mužů. Věková analýza pak ukázala větší zastoupení středních a vyšších věkových kategorií. Z dílčích analýz jednotlivých segmentů a celkové analýzy nelze jednoznačně vyvodit závěr o přímém a příčinném vlivu těchto faktorů na výkonnost podniků. Nespočet dalších faktorů, jako jsou odvětví, strategie, konkurenční prostředí a tržní podmínky, hraje významnou roli ve výkonnosti podniků a tyto faktory mohou převážit nad věkovým a genderovým faktorem členů statutárních orgánů. | cs |
| dc.description.abstract-translated | The topic of this thesis is motivated by the increasing number of countries introducing regulations and recommendations concerning diversity in corporate leadership. These measures indicate the significance of diversity for the financial performance and success of companies. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether there is a dependency between the number of women and men in statutory bodies and the performance of companies. Another goal was to find out whether the age of members of statutory bodies affects performance. In the research part, a quantitative analysis of data from companies in three segments of the national economy was conducted with regard to the gender and age diversity of statutory bodies. The gender analysis revealed considerable inequality in the statutory bodies of companies in favor of men. The age analysis showed a greater representation of middle and older age categories. From the partial analyses of individual segments and the overall analysis, it is not possible to conclusively determine a direct and causal influence of these factors on company performance. Countless other factors, such as industry, strategy, competitive environment, and market conditions, play a significant role in company performance, and these factors may outweigh the age and gender factor of members of statutory bodies. | en |
