| dc.description.abstract | Dílo Sympathy for the Machines pojednává o vztahu mezi reálným člověkem a jeho digitálním avatarem. Snaží se odpovědět na otázku, zda je člověk schopen se dostatečně se svým avatarem ztotožnit a zda jej může zneužít pro řešení vlastních psychických problémů. Zda skrze soucit k avatarovi, jemuž působí bolest, může nalézt soucit sám k sobě. Tento parazitní charakter vztahu je obrazově ilustrován kombinací techniky 3D animace a reálných video záběrů. | cs |

It seeks to answer the question of whether a person is capable of sufficiently identifying with their avatar and whether they can misuse them to address their own psychological problems. It examines whether through empathy towards the avatar, whom is forcefully experiencing pain, one can find empathy for oneself.
