The paper reports on a model reduction approach in modelling waves propagating in fluid interacting with periodically perforated elastic plates featured metamaterial properties due to embedded arrays of soft elastic inclusions serving for resonators. An efficient method is proposed for computing frequency-dependent effective parameters characterizing the metasurface derived by the homogenization and 3D-to-2D reduction of a transmission layer involving the plate. Numerical examples illustrate resonance effects influencing the acoustic transmission and plate response.en
