| dc.description.abstract | Tato bakalářská práce je výsledkem dlouhodobého procesu, ve kterém propojuji svoji floristickou praxi a výtvarné vyjádření.Celá struktura práce je uspořádaná do pravidelných linií, které se jemně vlní a plynou plátnem podobně, jako plyne čas.Pracnost ručního vyšívání podtrhuje téma trpělivosti a pomalého proměnlivého toku, který je vlastní nejen přírodě, ale i lidskému životu. Ve vizuálním výsledku je patrná postupná změna struktury stonků - některé si zachovávají více ze své původní svěžesti, jiné již vykazují známky sesychání a křehkosti.Právě tento kontrast čerstvosti a rozkladu je klíčovou součástí mého sdělení. Formát dlouhých úzkých pláten byl zvolen záměrně - svou podobou připomíná časovou osu.Z praktických důvodů (citlivost materiálu a proces schnutí) nebyla práce instalována vcelku již v průběhu tvorby, ale bude kompletně sestavena až přímo při instalaci na výstavě ve Veleslavínském zámku v Praze. Během tvorby jsem musela přizpůsobovat i způsob práce.Z počátku jsem zvažovala použití tavných pistolí a lepidel, ale výsledný vzhled neodpovídal jemnosti, kterou jsem chtěla dosáhnout.Vyšívání stonky do plátna se ukázalo nejen jako technicky nejvhodnější, ale především jako nejvíce odpovídající konceptu. | cs |
| dc.description.abstract-translated | The presented bachelor's thesis explores the intersection of floristry and fine art through the theme of transience and the symbolism of flowers. The project stems from the author's personal and professional journey, combining years of experience as a florist with studies in New Media at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia. The work reflects on the profound meaning hidden within flowers, not only as aesthetic objects but also as carriers of deep emotional messages. The main medium chosen for the practical part is the flower stem - an often overlooked but vital part of the plant, symbolizing strength, support, and endurance, even as the flower itself fades. By working with stems that would otherwise be discarded as floral waste, the author raises questions about the value of what is invisible, secondary, or considered unimportant. The theoretical part of the thesis examines the history of floristry as both a craft and an artistic expression, the symbolic language of flowers (floriography), and the representation of flowers in visual arts from the Renaissance to the present. Special attention is paid to the Vanitas genre, where flowers, alongside motifs like skulls and extinguished candles, symbolize the ephemeral nature of life. The thesis also addresses how contemporary artists integrate natural materials into their installations, reflecting on current issues such as environmental anxiety and digital impermanence. In the practical part, the author created three long textile panels, each approximately 2.5 meters in length, onto which dried flower stems were hand-stitched using fine jute twine. The panels form a visual narrative of time and change, where each stem represents a moment captured within the flow of life. The work emphasizes natural decay, variability, and the gentle beauty of gradual transformation. The installation aims to offer viewers a moment of pause - an opportunity to perceive the slow passage of time and the subtle changes often overlooked in the fast pace of contemporary life. By presenting a minimalist yet symbolically rich composition, the author invites reflection on the essence of being, the acceptance of impermanence, and the significance of seemingly minor elements in the fabric of existence. Through this project, the author also reflects on her own path of maturation, learning, and finding balance between artistic expression and personal authenticity. The project embodies not only an artistic statement but also an intimate message about life, time, and human sensitivity. The bachelor's thesis thus represents a synthesis of personal experience, professional craftsmanship, and a deep artistic exploration of the themes of fragility, transience, and transformation. It contributes to the ongoing dialogue between nature and contemporary art, highlighting the enduring relevance of natural materials and ancient symbols in today's creative expressions. | en |
