The Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach (SOFLA): převrácená třída v on-line výuce anglického jazyka na vysoké škole

Abstract

Výzkumná studie se zabývá konceptem výuky převrácené třídy v online prostředí. Nejdříve je představen rámec Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach (SOFLA), který obsahuje osm kroků určených pro asynchronní a synchronní část výuky. Následující část článku popisuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jak studenti vysoké školy vnímají rámec SOFLA ve výuce anglického jazyka. Základní zjištění ukazují, že studenti velice kladně hodnotí části rámce zaměřené na skupinovou práci a domácí přípravu. Rovněž byl zaznamenán pozitivní dopad na procvičování nového obsahu v synchronní části výuky a komunikaci během výuky. Článek obohacuje empirické poznání v oblasti převrácené třídy v online prostředí a popisuje rámec, který pedagogové mohou okamžitě implementovat do svých online jazykových kurzů.

This research study explores the concept of teaching a flipped classroom online. First, the Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach (SOFLA) framework is introduced. The framework contains eight steps designed for the asynchronous and synchronous parts of the learning process. The next part of the paper describes the results of a questionnaire survey to determine how college students perceive the SOFLA framework in English language teaching. The main findings show that students positively rate the group work and homework parts of the framework. There was also a positive impact on practising new content in the synchronous part of the class and communication during the class. The paper enriches the empirical knowledge of the flipped classroom in the online environment and describes a framework that educators can immediately implement in their online language courses.
