Pohádka jako kultovní téma secesního symbolismu

Abstract

Závěrečná studie čtyřdílného cyklu věnovaného generaci devadesátých let, průkopníků českého moderního umění, se od předcházejících liší svým specifickým zaměřením. Místo konfrontace vývojových fází od novoromantického východiska přes secesi a symbolismus k expresionismu sleduje na konkrétních dílech stěžejních představitelů generace devadesátých let uplatnění pohádky jako kultovního tématu secesního symbolismu v návaznosti na předchozí generaci Národního divadla. Závěr studie akcentuje ideový záměr cyklu: podílet se na rehabilitaci generace, jejíž význam a přínos byl po desetiletí nedoceněn a záměrně popírán hanlivými přívlastky „dekadentní“, „individualistický“ atd.

The final study of the four-part cycle devoted to the generation of the 1990s, the pioneers of Czech modern art, differs from the previous ones in its specific focus. Instead of confronting the developmental phases from the Neo-Romantic starting point through Art Nouveau and Symbolism to Expressionism, it follows the application of the fairy tale as a cult theme of Art Nouveau Symbolism in relation to the previous generation of the National Theatre through specific works by key representatives of the 1990s generation. The conclusion of the study emphasises the ideological intention of the series: to contribute to the rehabilitation of a generation whose significance and contribution had been underestimated for decades and deliberately denied by the pejorative adjectives "decadent", "individualistic", etc.
