Renesanční kosmologie - Kusánský, Bruno

Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with the cosmological concepts of Nicolas of Cusa, Nicolaus Copernicus and Giordano Bruno, three philosophers of the period of Renaissance. The main gole was to show and to compare the essential features of those concepts, with the focus on determining of the center, circumference, intermediate space of the knowable universe.The development of cosmological concepts from the traditional scholastic cosmology to the heliocentric cosmology shows many interesting perspectives for the human understanding of the world, using of certain methods of knowledge and ability to apply them. The main goal of the thesis was to describe and explain the concepts of Cusanus and Bruno with regarding to their relation to heliocentrism.
