dc.description.abstract-translatedThe paper aims to contribute to the research of the professionalization of Third Sector through overview study on state economic support for non-profit volunteer organizations. It explores institutionalization of engaged volunteer NGOs with state financial contributions. The main goal of the overview study is to map the extent to which the state supports volunteer NGOs through financial grants and whether this financial assistance is relevant. In the Czech Republic, Act on Volunteer Service came into effect in 2002, which in its Section 11 allows for subsidies from the state budget to be provided to organizations that have been accredited for a project or program under this law.In 2003, the first year the Act was in effect, the amount of the state subsidy was 15 million crowns. This amount gradually decreased, then increased, and in 2024 it is CZK 14.1 million. However, this amount did not reflect inflation since 2003. The research question was formulated: Is volunteering sufficiently recognized by the state in terms of its funding, with an emphasis on the institutionalization and professionalization of NGOs? The answer is sought through the actual financial amount for accredited projects, depending on the volume of funds, inflation, and the number of projects.en
