Život a smrť za hranicou majority. Sonda medzi vybrané marginalizované skupiny vidieckej spoločnosti stredného Slovenska v 19. storočí
    (AntropoWeb, 2013) Golian, Ján
In a paper prepared on the basis of historical-demographic analysis of registers of thoseburied in the parish Detva in central Slovakia inthe 19th century, we focus on selected social minoritiesand the circumstances of their life, andespecially death. In the Catholic parish, whereamong the dominating Slovak population whomake their livelihood mainly in the peasant wayof life, some individuals appeared which do notseem to fit in some of the implied templates. In theregister of the buried where their life stories end, these people bear some degree of exclusivity. Intosuch a limited research sample appear a numberof people which moved to the parish from otherhabitats of the present-day area of Slovakia, or beyondits borders. These foreigners were perceivedas foreign element in society, as well as in theirrecord of their deaths which also reported theirplace of origin. Another group in Detva’s societywere people whose lives ended with a beggar orrogue status. Another social minority were localnatives, who spent a significant part of their lifeaway from Detva by serving in the military. Manyyoung Detvanian were dying in Hungarian uniformwhile doing their military services, outsidetheir birthplace, very often from infectious diseasesand accidents.

Dialektika cigánské férovky. Příspěvek ke kritické antropologii bezpečnosti
    (AntropoWeb, 2013) Walach, Václav
Within a Czech socially excluded locality, street violence is recognized as a serious securitythreat. This paper deals with several interpretationsof this phenomenon which is oftentimessymbolized as the ‘Gypsy fair fight’. It is analyzedvia the dialectical method structured around thethesis–antithesis–synthesis conceptual triad. While a prevailing explication in the discourseof respective locale comprehends street violencein terms of ethnic conflict, a less frequent one opposesthis interpretation on the basis of culturalconflict between the so-called decent and inadaptablepeople. The last stage of analysis consists ofre-reading these accounts from the perspectiveemphasizing structural factors in a ‘Gypsy fairfight’ explanation. The aim of the paper is to localizethe social experience of (in)security in relationto the political order and social structure. Takingthem into account, we can aspire to sociologicallyrelevant knowledge of how security discoursesand practices shape our everyday ways of being.

Makroskopická perspektiva politické filosofie versus mikroskopická perspektiva empirie
    (AntropoWeb, 2013) Krčál, Petr
The following article focuses on issues of social justice. This text is divided into two mainparts. In the first one, I am concerned with the characteristic of the theory of social justice itself and with the main theoretical approaches of this theory – namely with egalitarianism, prioritarianismand (left) libertarianism. The second part is focused on an analysis of the electoral programs of political parties which were elected into the Czech parliament in the elections of 2010. The main point of this analysis is to locate and identify proclamations about social justice which can be related to theories of social justice. Through this analysis I want to demonstrate the possibility of theories of social justice as a way of explaining the political actions and the relation of political representation to social marginality.

Kudy k dinosaurům? O behaviorálním paradigmatu v podnikové informatice, paralelách k antropologii organizací a svazujících hranicích oborů
    (AntropoWeb, 2013) Doležel, Michal
The main aim of this study is to introducethe behavioral research paradigm into the academic discipline of Business Informatics (BI) in the Czech Republic. Its main motivation is the fact that design-oriented research traditionally dominates in this area and the word “informatics”is perceived mostly in its technical meaning(i.e. Computer Science) in Czech society. In my paper I argue that there should be more socially oriented research in Czech BI and management,as well as less insistence upon quantitative researchmethods and/or design science. From the perspective of a professionally qualified doctoral student, I firstly compare the Anglo-Saxonresearch tradition of Information Systems (IS) with the European one, as well as with the Czech tradition. Consequently I present underlying motivation and well-founded reasons for the behavioral research in BI, summarizing key topics. I also involved the researchers in social science in order to form capable teams with researchers inbusiness and management. So far, there has also been little discussion about the usage of anthropological concepts and tools in BI and management studies. This study takes a transdisciplinary perspectiveand seeks to remedy all these challenges by reviewing of the literature in BI, IS, managementand organizational studies, sociocultural anthropology and business anthropology to reach the conclusion that we need a more integrated approach in order to properly study such complex issues in modern business organizations and knowledge society.

Metafory, bezdomovci a média. Metodologický nástin využití analýzy metafor a podpůrného softwaru (Maxqda a Antconc)
(AntropoWeb, 2013) Mertl, Jiří; Hejnal, Ondřej
The main goal of the methodologicaltext is to characterize the multidisciplinary appliedinductive analysis of large textual corporawith the stress on metaphor analysis. Metaphorscould serve two purposes in the text: (1) conceptualizationof the discussed issue and (2) persuasiveoffering of the specific metaphors that shouldhelp the recipients to understand the issue in thedesired way as well as to put aside the alternativemetaphors and interpretations. In this regard, metaphor analysis is a suitable instrument forthe interpretation of public, political, and mediadiscourses, especially in the context of the socalledsocial problems. We offer an analyticalmethodologicalapproach based on corpus analysisand implemention of the computer software(MAXQDA and Antconc), and apply it to thehomelessness issue.
