dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce se zaměřuje na jednu z největších spojeneckých výsadkových akcí druhé světové války, operaci "Market Garden", jež se uskutečnila v září roku 1944 v Nizozemsku. První výsadková armáda generálporučíka Lewise Breretona měla obsadit klíčové mosty přes řeky Máza, Waal a Rýn (osa Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Arnhem). Jednalo se o část plánu pod kódovým označením "Market". Následně měly čekající spojenecké motorizované oddíly proniknout nizozemským koridorem do severoněmecké nížiny. Tato část se nazývala "Garden". Operace, naplánována Bernardem Montgomerym, skončila nezdarem. Bakalářská práce se zabývá uvedením operace do kontextu druhé světové války, jejími přípravami a průběhem. V závěru práce jsou uvedeny hlavní důvody, jež zapříčinily neúspěch tohoto kombinovaného úderu.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe bachelor thesis focuses on one of the biggest allied airborne operations of the World War II, "Market Garden" which took place in Netherlands in September 1944. The First Allied Airborne Army of General Colonel Lewis Brereton was supposed to occupy key bridges over the rivers Meuse, Waal and Rhine (axis of Eindhoven, Nijmegen, Arnhem). It was a part of the plan called the "Market". Subsequently were the waiting allied motorized squads to penetrate the Dutch corridor into North German lowland. This part of the plan was called the "Garden". The operation, planned by Bernard Montgomery, failed. The thesis deals with setting the operation into the context of the World War II, the preparation and progress of the operation. In conclusion of the thesis there are the main reasons which caused the failure of this combined strike.en
