dc.description.abstractCílem diplomové práce je analyzovat vývoj anestezie a analgezie v druhé polovině 19. století, vysvětlit, jak důležitý mezník pro medicínu představovala, a také zdůraznit roli klíčových osobností v této nelehké cestě ke zrodu nového plnohodnotného lékařského oboru. Vysvětlen je také způsob, jakým byly činěny objevy jednotlivých anestetik a analgetik, jak probíhalo jejich nasazování ve zdravotnictví nebo jejich další zkoumání. Zohledněna je též otázka pohledu společnosti na možnost tlumit nebo zcela potlačovat bolest. Jedním z cílů práce je též objasnit, jakým způsobem probíhal spor o prvenství v objevení anestezie a jaká byla role jeho jednotlivých účastníků nejen v této kontroverzi, ale zejména pak v jejich dalším přínosu rozvoji anesteziologie.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe aim of the thesis is to analyze the development of anaesthesia and pain management in the second half of the 19th century, to explain how important milestone in medicine it was and also to emphasize the role of key figures in this uneasy journey to the foundation of the new full-fledged medicine discipline. The way of discovering new anaesthetics and analgesics is also explained with further clarification of their usage and subsequent researches. The social point of view on these new means of reducing or eliminating of pain is also one of the considered questions. Another aim of the thesis is to clarify the process of dispute over who was the first discoverer of anaesthesia and how did these claimants contributed to following progress of anaesthesiology.en
