dc.description.abstractTato práce zkoumá genderové nerovnosti a jejich odraz v české šachové komunitě, se zaměřením na vybrané šachové kluby. Studie se zabývá tím, jak genderové normy a očekávání ovlivňují postavení, prožívání a chování hráčů a hráček prostřednictvím každodenních interakcí a symbolických rolí reprodukovaných v rámci šachové hry. Výzkum kombinuje kvalitativní metody - včetně zúčastněného pozorování, polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a obsahové analýzy šachové literatury a online zdrojů. Cílem je identifikovat formy genderové nerovnosti, analyzovat jejich podoby a zhodnotit, jak jsou tyto nerovnosti vnímány členy komunity. Klíčová zjištění poukazují na nedostatečné zastoupení žen, stereotypní zobrazování v médiích a literatuře a vliv genderové socializace na šachové kariéry. Práce přispívá k hlubšímu pochopení mechanismů, které udržují genderové nerovnosti v šachu.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis thesis explores gender inequalities and their reflection in the Czech chess community, focusing on selected chess clubs. The study examines how gender norms and expectations influence the status, experiences, and behavior of players through everyday interactions and symbolic roles reproduced within the community. Combining qualitative methodsincluding participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and content analysis of chess literature and on-line sourcesthe research identifies forms of gender inequality, analyzes their causes, and evaluates how these disparities are perceived by community members. Key findings highlight the underrepresentation of women, stereotypical portrayals in media and literature, and the impact of socialization on players careers. The thesis contributes to understanding the mechanisms perpetuating gender disparities in chess.en
