dc.description.abstractMnoho autorů se fenoménem totalitarismu zabývalo, připomeňme např. Raymonda Arona, Jacoba L. Talmonda či Ivo T. Budila. Někteří však mezi ostatními vyčnívají. V literární rovině je oním výjimečným člověkem anglický spisovatel George Orwell, v rovině praktické židovská politická filosofka německého původu Hannah Arendtová. Tématem mé diplomové práce jsou aspekty totalitarismu v dílech George Orwella Farma zvířat a 1984. Obě díla Orwellovi přinesla velkou popularitu a zařadila jej mezi nejznámější dystopisty a kritiky totalitarismu v literatuře 20. století. Orwellovo dílo je i po více než šedesáti letech od doby svého vzniku stále aktuální a myšlenky z obou jeho anti-totalitních děl jsou nadále hodny zamyšlení.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The necessary theoretical part describes literally background such as definitions of utopia and dystopia. Further it focuses on three well-known utopian novels. The practical part of my thesis is based on the work of political philosopher Hannah Arendt The Origins of Totalitarianism and on the novel of dystopian author George Orwell Nineteen Eighty-four. The aim of the diploma thesis is to compare Orwell?s fictional world of Oceania with totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century. The cornerstone of finding parallels with those regimes and further comparison is based on a detailed description of the Big Brother?s regime in the novel, which is being supplemented by relevant details of the plot.en
