dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce probírá dílo Duna Franka Herberta. Kniha zobrazuje jak se rod Atreidů a jeho přeživší na planetě Arrakis probíjí nehostinnou pustinou za vyhrocené politické situace. Kniha rozebírá podstatu politické moci, a jejího uplatnění v jiných oblastech se společenským vlivem, kterými jsou například ekologie či náboženství. Hlavním záměrem bakalářské práce je probrat postoj knihy vůči orientalismu a různým formám koloniální moci, o kterých pojednává jako jedno z prvních děl postkoloniální fikce. To vše zahrnuje analýzu daných témat s pomocí děl postkoloniální teorie, což jsou knihy Saida, Spivakové a Bhabhy. Má práce se dále zabývá zobrazením domorodců v textu knihy. Práce si proto klade za cíl odpovědět na otázku, jak je s postkoloniálními myšlenkami v textu nakládáno.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe Bachelor thesis discusses the novel Dune by Frank Herbert. The story follows the House Atreides and their remnants as they navigate the inhospitable environments and high-stakes politics of the desert planet Arrakis. Dune deconstructs the nature of political power and its application in other fields of influence such as ecology and religion. The thesis mainly concerns the novel's stance on orientalist depiction and the variations of colonial power as one of the first pieces of postcolonial fiction. This includes analyzing the topics chosen with the usage of works from postcolonial theory such as those from Said, Spivak and Bhabha and the way representation of aborigines is utilized within the text. The thesis therefore aims to answer how postcolonial discourse comes to be used within the book's pages.en
