dc.description.abstract-translatedThe article is a response to recent developments in the relationship between the Court of Justice of the European Union, on the one hand, and sport, on the other. It characterizes it as an unjustified interference in the autonomy of sport at the detriment of the freedom of civil society and in the name of the expansion of the market economy. It confuses sport competition with an economic element in the name, for example, of supporting the monopolization of football competitions organized by the richest football clubs in Western Europe, to the detriment of the development of sport in Central and Eastern Europe. It ignores the autonomy of sports arbitration authorities and questions their competence, contrary to the consistent case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.en
