dc.description.abstractVelká Británie je jednou ze zemí, ve které je možno najít díky historickému vývoji více než jednu identitu. Najdeme zde anglickou, skotskou, britskou, velšskou identitu. V rámci tématu své bakalářské práce jsem se proto věnovala britské národní identitě. V první části práce byly vymezeny teoretické pojmy jako jsou nacionalismus, národ a národní identita.V druhé části práce byly popsány i dílčí regionální identity (skotská, velšská, irská,anglická a britská). Byl nastíněn vývoj identit, jejich vzájemné vztahy a jejich současný stav. Třetí část práce se věnovala britskému nejednoznačnému postavení (myšleno nejednoznačné postavení politického sektoru) v mezinárodním systému. Tímto postavením bylo myšleno britské členství v EU a zároveň britské zvláštní vztahy se Spojenými státy. V této části práce bylo nastíněno, ke kterému z partnerů (EU nebo USA) má Velká Británie blíže. V závěu práce bylo odpovězeno na výzkumnou otázku. Ta zněla jaká je současná britská národní identita a ke komu má Velká Británie blíže, jestli k USA, nebo k EU.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis work dealt with British national identity and especially with development and crisis of British national identity and its current state.The first part of this work dealt with terms like nationalism, nation and national identity. The second part of this work dealt with single regional identities which can be found in the British Isles. These identities are Scottish, Welsh, Irish, English and finally British. In the second part of the work each identity were described from historical and also actual point of view. There were described relations between regional identities and British national identity.The third part of this work dealt with Great Britain and its vague position in the world. The Great Britain doesn't know whether it is closer to the EU or to the United States of America. We learned that British society and sometimes British politicians have closer relationship with the USA especially due to special relations between both countries. On the other hand Great Britain is nowadays part of the EU and that means that British government should be adjusted for EU?s regulation.We can find answers to the research questions in the last part of this work. British national identity is still confused, but in some part it has relatively strong basis. Great Britain?s position is still unclear. Society is more pro-US but the British government must follow EU?s regulation.en
