dc.description.abstract-translatedThe paper deals with the fine line between administrative and criminal sanctions in the area of animal protection. It points to the theoretical starting points of both legal branches and compares them with the problems of application practice. Crime committed in the area of animal protection is increasing every year, which is beginning to be reflected in its registry which is slowly rising. On the contrary, the number of convictions of the perpetrators of these cruel crimes is still freezing. In the paper, we will not forget the planned changes in the context of animal protection, reflecting the major amendment of the Criminal Code. With the planned amendment to the Criminal Code, we will reach the criminalization of illegal animal reproduction for the purpose of making a profit, which we consider beneficial.en
