dc.description.abstract-translatedThe paper examines the process of determinologization of musical technical terms in German-language daily press. Particular attention is paid to the metaphorical use of expressions from the domain of musical dynamics, which are transferred from their original specialist context into non-musical discourses, especially political, social, and journalistic ones. The aim of the study is to describe the frequency of these terms in metaphorical usage and to analyse the ways in which their original semantic features are preserved, neutralized, or reinterpreted. The empirical basis of the research is a corpus analysis conducted using the COSMAS II system on a subcorpus of public newspaper and magazine texts from the DACHL region. Quantitative findings are complemented by a qualitative analysis of selected examples.en
