dc.description.abstract-translatedThe article discusses the Digital Services Act (DSA), a significant EU legislation addressing challenges posed by digital platforms and social networks. It aims to create a safer online environment by regulating digital platforms and protecting users‘ fundamental rights. The DSA responds to issues such as disinformation, hate speech, and privacy violations. Key provisions include mandatory reporting on content moderation, rapid response to illegal content, and establishment of complaint mechanisms. The article analyzes the DSA‘s primary goals of harmonizing online rules across the EU, enhancing consumer protection, and increasing platform transparency. Special attention is given to safeguarding young users of social networks. The effectiveness of the DSA will be determined by its practical application and ability to adapt to the dynamic online environment. The article concludes by emphasizing the DSA‘s importance in creating a safer, fairer, and more transparent digital space within the EU, while noting that its success depends on thorough implementation and effective oversight in member states.en
