dc.description.abstractNormanské ostrovy se nachází v Lamanšském průlivu. Jejich součástí jsou ostrovy Jersey a Guernsey. Pod jurisdikci ostrovy Guernsey rovněž spadají i ostrovy Sark, Alderney a několik dalších neobydlených nebo jen řídce obydlených ostrovů. Formálně spadají pod jurisdikci Koruny, ale ve většině oblastí státní správy jsou ostrovy nezávislé. Spojené království Velké Británie a Severního Irska je zodpovědné pouze za zahraniční politiku ostrovů a vnější bezpečnost. Cílem práce je charakterizovat formální a neformální vztahy mezi oběma ostrovy a Spojeným královstvím. Dále se práce zaměřuje na to, jaké historické události vedly ke vzniku nynějšímu statusu a jestli existuje debata na téma změny tohoto statusu a potažmo kdo jej iniciuje.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe Channel Islands are located in the English Channel. They include the islands of Jersey and Guernsey. The jurisdiction of Guernsey also includes the islands of Sark, Alderney and several other uninhabited or sparsely inhabited islands. Formally under the jurisdiction of the Crown, the islands are independent in most areas of government. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is responsible only for the islands' foreign policy and external security. The aim of this thesis is to characterise the formal and informal relations between the two islands and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on what historical events led to the current status and whether there is a debate on the change of this status and consequently who initiated it.en
